Anambra: Massive Roads Construction Kicks Off Soon by Anambra1stSon(m): 10:18pm On Nov 13, 2016 |
The Anambra State Government would commence aggressive construction of roads in parts of the State in the coming weeks. Gov Willie Obiano disclosed this during an Eucharistic Thanksgiving Service held at St John's Church, Oko, Orumba North council of the state to mark the 60th Birthday of Chief Mrs Ifeoma Ekwueme, wife of the former Vice-president, Dr Alex Ekwueme . The Governor disclosed that contractors handling road projects across the state were recently mobilized, and since the rains have subsided, work would commence immediately on the roads. He said 8 out of the 27 investments his administration had attracted in the state totalling about $4.7billion were fully on ground, creating activities that have generated wealth and job opportunities for people, adding that the impact in the present recession cannot be overemphasized. He expressed felicitations to the celebrant Mrs Ekwueme, describing her as a great woman who at 60 has left no one in doubt as to her integrity and humaneness. Gov Obiano thanked Dr Ekwueme through whose intervention he noted, the Federal Government has agreed to intervene in the Oko erosion site, and said his fatherly role has been valuable to the State. The event was well attended by dignitaries from within and outside the state including Deputy Senate President, Dr Ike Ekweremadu, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Pius Anyim, Senator Joy Emodi, and renowned industrialists, Chief Patrick Chidolue and Godwin Ezemo among others. http://www.anambrablog.ng/2016/11/anambra-massive-roads-construction-kick.html?m=1 1 Like

Obiano better act fast cus most roads constructed by Nigge and Peter Obi are becoming bad and the ones started by Obiano in Ogidi to Ogbunike roads have been abandoned for more than one year. 9 Likes |
Re: Anambra: Massive Roads Construction Kicks Off Soon by nonsobaba: 12:31am On Nov 14, 2016 |
Ucheosefoh:Those roads were never abandoned. The economic meltdown and the raining season made the contractors to leave those sites. Now work will resume in earnest. Obiano's second term is never in doubt. He has no competition at all. 9 Likes |

nonsobaba:I doubt it and can post pictures of the OGBUNIKE road to back up my claim. Yesterday I went to Agulu the road leading to Nanka and Amawbia is becoming an eyesore including Igbokwu to Nnobi roads are dilapidating fast. 2 Likes |
Re: Anambra: Massive Roads Construction Kicks Off Soon by nonsobaba: 1:24am On Nov 14, 2016 |
Ucheosefoh:If Agulu road is bad, it means that Peter Obi is the most useless governor anambra state has had. I have never heard of people from Alor or neighbouring communities complaining of bad roads more than 11 years since Ngige left office. Anyway, Peter Obi and substandard roads are like five and six, so I am not suprised that less than 2 years after he left office, all his china roads have started to cave in. I am sure that Obiano is surprised at what he is seeing but as he promised, massive road constructions will begin this week. I trust Obiano. He is talk na do. I think what took him this long to restart works was the rains, economic recession and vetting all the substandard contractors that Peter Obi awarded his last minute contracts to. Obiano is a good, hard-working governor. 4 Likes |
