Jim Iyke releases album

Jim Iyke proved to all and sundry that he is a bad boy with a good cause in Abuja recently week when he presented his album to the public at Thisday Dome. Jim Iyke who admitted being a bad boy showed the audience in the capital city how bad he could get with his near-perfect delivery on stage and stunts. This  paved the way for his noble cause of building a permannet residence for the Adonai Orphanage in Kaduna. The kids were present and one of them was adopted by a compassionate member of the audience, Mr Stanley Anyawu.  The night kicked off on a sluggish note with several up and coming artistes strutting their stuff on stage after Kate Henshaw-Nuttall and Francis Duru’s the comperes came on stage to ease the nerves of the people that have been waiting for a while.

The night’s tempo was upped with Peelola, the actress cum singer who came on stage performing her hit single, Bamijo and inviting a little girl on stage to twist and whined to the rhythm of the Afro Pop song. That was followed by Abuja-based comedian, Youngest Oldman coming on stage. Youngest as he is fondly called finally got the audience out of the shell and AY followed with his brand of comedy which had many people reeling with laughter.

The crowd was put in suspense after Jim was announced as the next act on stage. The announcement was followed by a crowd of dancers who later formed a motion-less circle on their kneel. Palpable silence followed as Jim was shown on shown on the projector emerging from his customised Chrysler car with a lady resembling a James Bond girl. He performed two other songs, Ikenna and Bad boy don’t kiss and tell which were followed by a performance by Faze-the Kolomental crooner after which the Nollywood stars in the house mounted the staged to declare support for one of their own. The highlight of the night was when Tuface Idibia was introduced alongside Jim again to perform the hit single, Who am I? The collaboration was greeted with a thunderous applause . TuFace had the opportunity of showing that the stunt he pulled at the Nightshift Coliseum, a week earlier was not a flash in the pan by not performing to CD. He had the DJ playing beat while he was free-styling to the instrumental. 2face was simply in the world of his own.

The night took a comical bend when 2face invited Stanley Anyawu to the stage paying homage to him for supporting the industry and he had to carry one of the little children of the orphanage who had done a stage presentation earlier. A member of the audience asked if Tuface was the father only for him to reply that he was yet to be told. But that did not stop him from calling for more support for the less privileged while showering encomiums on Jim Iyke for giving the audience the opportunity to take care of the have-not of the society.  I go die and Gandoki rounded off the night of music and huge donations from bigwigs in Abuja social circuit. Now, Jim is set to bring his screen might to bear in his music by moving the crowd and amazing fans.

Why cant Nigerian actors/actresses stick to acting alone & leave the musicians to do their thing? Its only in 9ja where this happens otherwise Denzel Washington would have released his 6th album by now.

Benevolent gestures aside,

Jim's album easily comes up as one the biggest duds (NOTABLE) of 2009.

He sounds like a DMX on rapping underwater!

Advice: Don't Drop the acting job!
