SPECULATION that the recent meeting involving the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Speaker House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and Governors of the All Progressive Congress (APC) was on how to resolved issues surrounding President Buhari's $29.9B loan which was rejected by the Senate has been described as false.



Saraki, who reacted through his twitter handle denied that nothing of such was discussed in the meeting.

"At no point during our meeting did we discuss the loan," he said, adding that "Decision by Senate to reject the request was not a personal one."


The Senate had earlier in the month,  unanimously, threw out President Muhammadu Buhari’s request for external loan of $29.96 billion to execute key infrastructural projects across the country between 2016 and 2018 because the letter conveying it was not accompanied by a borrowing plan.

Saraki who has met with the Presidency thrice last week, was asked to address State House Correspondent on the outcome of the meeting, He shifted the task to Vice President Osinbajo.

He noted the Mr. Osinbajo was in position to address the press.‎

As at the time of filling the report, Osinbajo is yet to release a statement to that effect.

Efforts to get reaction from his media aide, Mr. Laolu Akande ‎was unsuccessful as he was not answering telephone calls placed to him.‎
