Count Lamido out, he is a joke. If any three of those former Presidents I showed their picture lean towards any candidate, its done! Kanuris will give Atiku hell. Observe what Buhari done with sorrounding himself with close aides of Kanuri descent....in addition to, or attempting to, bring Ribadu back into APC.

Obasanjo is anti Atiku, so is IBB, GEJ might endorse him, Shagari and Shonekan are politically inactive, AbdulSalami goes where IBB goes, Gowon is pro NW. If any party is fielding Northerner it would be Kanuri.
I have not endorsed any candidate yet but I know that Atilku will never win even in his Adamawa

You mean Igbos. The thing is that some people are driven by emotions, filled with hate and always see politics as conquest game, the 2015 defeat is yet to clear from them. Personally, I felt bad to lose election but immediately I moved on knowing that I will be an opposition. However, these Igbos won't move on.

Some of them will tell you that if Buhari can pick a tribesman VeePee, they will support him, the same people will come again and say "Biaaaafraa or death", the same people are now saying "Atiku".

Are they PDP? If yes, is Atiku PDP? If they are PDP, is Buhari also PDP to request for tribesman as VeePee?

You see, I am trying to understand the complexities of what they want.

PS: I have managed to distingush iPad yoots led by one Kanu in Kuje and the great Igbo ethnic group.
Whether u like believe it or not, Igbos don't play clannish politics. History is there to guide you, unless u are blind or intentionally been insincere.

Even if Buhari picks Rochas as VP or APC choose him as candidate, he will lose overwhelmingly.

We told u guys Buhari will fail, u doubted us. Told u Brexit will work, you insult us. We predicted Trump's victory, u guys cursed us. What we see sitting, a lot can't standing on a ladder.

Deal with TonyeBarcanista, Atiku is ur next President. I don't like him, but he is better than Cassandra.

The truth is that Atiku is not an outsider of the political spectrum of Nigeria. He has adequate knowledge about how to go about presiding as president. He knows how to prevent factors capable of making him to fail.Atiku is educated, has entrepreneural spirit and a listening ear because of his fair understanding of the system. Atiku is matured and enlighten, he is traveled and has a fair understanding of Nigeria's diversity haven live in a multi ethnic city like Lagos state at a time.Atiku will not be tribalistic and nepotic like Buhari because he knows the harm that is having on the present administration and how the obasanjo administration avoided it an was fairly alright.

Atiku is the best candidate for president come 2019.
Abeg tell them.

If the Presidency is zoned to the North. Am voting for Atiku. Period

We made a mistake with Bubu. #NeverAgain
Re: 2019: 4 Valid Reasons Why Nigerians Cannot Afford To Have Atiku In Aso Rock by ayo291: 7:10pm On Nov 22, 2016
TonyeBarcanista:
I have been observing the recent moves by a former Vice President of Nigeria Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who is also a veteran aspirant for the office of the President. Atiku Abubakar has suddenly shifted from his subtle campaign for President to what seem to be like an almost direct campaign for the number one seat in the country. In the Social media, some sycophantic groups and individual with inspiration from their stomach have been making noise by endorsing the Turaki Adamawa-perhaps, with expectation of gratification "when the time comes".

While I am not against Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to exercise his right to aspire for the office of the President in 2019 or any office in Nigeria, I have the responsibility as a young man, a patriot and a youth leader in my own right to enlighten Nigerians and eligible voters about Alhaji Atiku Abubakar's candidacy (just like I would to any other aspirant for the office).

I shall give some reasons why Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is unfit to occupy the office he is aspiring for;

1. Lack of Integrity:
During the period when he was the Vice President of the country, Atiku was appointed to chair the Petroleum Technology Development Fund by the President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. As Chairman of Petroleum Training Development Fund(PTDF), Atiku lodged over $30million and $164 in Trans International Bank and Equatorial Trust Bank respectively from the account of PTDF according to EFCC's forensive indictment in 2006. In fact, 'loans' that yielded interest as high as 15% to the banks were collected from the said banks by Atiku and his proteges AFTER PTDF millions of dollars has been lodged with the illegal account. It was all business! When the deal was busted in 2006, Atiku simply said that he 'kept the monies for safe-keeping' and even claimed that he deserves commendation. He brought back the PTDF "capital" that he put in private account and benefited hugely from it.

Atiku Abubakar was indicted by EFCC, Senate, and a Presidential Committee. He is yet to clear his name. As usual, a court that he went to never discussed whether he was innocent or guilty, but simply said the FG Committee lacks power to investigate and indict Atiku Abubakar because they weren't courts. You may look these for reference. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6402241.stm
www.saharareporters.com/2006/09/24/objatiku-scandal-what-efcc-failed-disclose-thenewssaharareporters
www.saharareporters.com/2007/02/28/breaking-news-ptdf-scandal-senate-indicts-obj-atiku-impeachment-motion-looms

It is a shame that we are in a country where we forget easily. Otherwise, how could sane Nigerians be asking for Atiku's Presidency when Nigerians in unison were asking for him to come out clean as for back as 2006.

Apart from the PTDF, Nigerians are yet to understand how Alhaji Atiku Abubakar from a humble background became an extraordinary billionaire despite the fact that most of his productive adult life was spent in the Nigeria Custom Service.

There is also an indictment on Atiku in the USA, I am yet to see him take up the challenge to take a trip to the United States as requested by exPresident Olusegun Obasanjo in 2014.

2. Tribal Supremacism:
One of the challenge of President Buhari's administration is that he is more aligned with his brothers in the north than with the rest of the country, hough Buhari has never hidden where is primary loyalty lies (his north). While many think Atiku is detribalised (we can only be patriotic and not detribalised anyway), the bare truth is that Atiku is a northern supremacist that believe that his northerners should always align with their own. Unlike Buhari, Atiku is pretentious about his- but his sin shall find him out.

In 2010, in their bid to stop Goodluck Jonathan from seeking the ticket of PDP in the 2011 Presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, Aliyu Gusau, Gen IBB and Bukola Saraki(now Senate President) all submitted themselves to Adamu Ciroma led Northern Political Leaders Forum to come up with a consensus NORTHERN candidate to upstage Southern Goodluck Jonathan. Atiku was eventually chosen as the eventual "northern candidate" over Saraki, who wasn't considered "northern enough" by the Ciroma led Forum. Atiku led a campaign in the north that he christened "Naka Sai Naka" meaning "Northerners go for your own".

The record is there for all to see http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-12193681

3. Insincerity And Deception:
Atiku is a very wealthy man no doubt, but of late we have seen a picture of him drinking sachet water aka pure water. When did Atiku start drinking such? Who is he trying to deceive? We won't forget the N40 sacthet Milo/tea gimmicks that the Buhari campaign employed to deceive gullible Nigerians into believing that he was a "poor man". We won't forget the "akara" frying stunt of Mrs Aisha Buhari during the electioneering period in 2015. We should realise that when politicians are desperate, they take to any act just to impress and deceiving the gullible into giving them their votes. #NeverAgain should we be falling for such. It amounts to deception in the part of the elite to continue to use such gimmicks.

Also, Atiku has been making case for federalism and stuffs, but in ALL his years in Aso Rock as VeePee, he never initiated nor suggested such. In fact, Atiku was a very powerful VeePee between 1999 and 2003, as he was in charge of home-front while Obasanjo was travelling the world, yet he never thought of any pro-Federalism/restructuring policy. It is true that he fought against the third term agenda of Obasanjo, but we all know that he did it so that he can be able to succeed the president in 2007- he didn't do it for Nigeria.

4. What Does He Have To Offer That He Can't Suggest To Incumbents?
Atiku is part of the political system in Nigeria. In 1993 he ran for President, but lost to MKO Abiola in the Social Democratic Party primary election. In 2007, he ran for Presidency under Action Congress, but lost to Umaru Yaradua of PDP, and coming behing ANPP's General Buhari. In 2011 he ran for Presidency and lost to Jonathan in the contest for PDP ticket. In 2014, he ran again but lost to Muhammadu Buhari in the APC primary, coming behind second placed Rabiu Kwankwaso. Now he is eyeing 2019! What is Atiku looking for after serving as Vice President for eight years? What did he forget in the villa that he wants to go back to get?

Atiku is already 70, he will be 73 in 2019, he is not an outsider of the system (like the American Trump), what does he have to offer that he couldn't offer as VeePee? What stops him from sharing his "developmental" ideas to the incumbents since 1999 (considering that he was always in the incumbent parties)? What stops Alhaji Atiku from grooming younger, smarter and intelligent politician for the plum job?

Like I said earlier in my first paragraph, I am not against the right of Atiku to seek office, but I am against the idea of him becoming President. Nigeria cannot afford to continue to rotate failures and grannies. We need generational shift in leadership, we need to retire the system elite and bring him visionaries in 2019.

Nigeria has to be great for our own good, and we must make it great!

May God Bless Us All and Bless Nigeria

@tonye. Atiku isn't popular enough to win a popular contest against the likes of Buhari. So his ambition is dead on arrival. However you forgot to add that Nigeria also cannot afford another Pdp or ijaw led FG amongst other things. Let us humbly submit to the lords in control. They are the true owners of this great nation.

... Any country, region, state and human being that voted for Buhari can equally vote for Atiku 100%.If Atiku can clinch the PDP ticket, then he has my vote.He is a moderate politician and the most qualified politician from the north.

As for the OP, no one takes you serious here. You lack credibility and generational gap.

A SELF DECEIVING COUNTRY CALLED NIGERIA

Twenty-one senators currently receiving pensions from government as ex-governors and deputy governors.

The current senators who once served as governors are Bukola Saraki of Kwara, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano, Kabiru Gaya of Kano, Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Theodore Orji of Abia, Abdullahi Adamu of Nasarawa, Sam Egwu of Ebonyi, Shaaba Lafiagi of Kwara, Joshua Dariye of Plateau Jonah Jang of Plateau, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto, Ahmed Sani Yarima of Zamfara, Danjuma Goje of Gombe, Bukar Abba Ibrahim of Yobe, Adamu Aliero of Kebbi, George Akume of Benue and Isiaka Adeleke of Osun.

The former deputy governors in the Senate are Ms Biodun Olujimi of Ekiti and Enyinaya Harcourt Abaribe of Abia. Danladi Abubakar Sani served as the acting governor of Taraba state.

Many former governors are also in Buhari's Cabinet as Ministers. This includes: Ngige, Fayemi, Amaechi and Fashola (SAN).).

In Akwa Ibom State, the law provides that ex governors and deputy governors receive pension equivalent to the salaries of the incumbent. The package also includes a new official car and a utility vehicle every four years; one personal aide; a cook, chauffeurs and security guards for the governor at a sum not exceeding N5 million per month and N2.5 million for his deputy governor.

In Rivers, the law provides 100 percent of annual basic salaries for the ex-governor and deputy, one residential house for the former governor “anywhere of his choice in Nigeria”; one residential house anywhere in Rivers for the deputy, three cars for the ex-governor every four years and two cars for the deputy every four years.

It is alledged that in Lagos, a former governor will get two houses, one in Lagos and another in Abuja, estimated at N500 million in Lagos and N700 million in Abuja. He also receives six new cars to be replaced every three years; a furniture allowance of 300 percent of annual salary to be paid every two years, and a N30 million pension annually for life.

This is the reality for all the 21 ex govenors and deputy governors who are currently serving as senators. This same is also true of ex governors who are now serving as Ministers.

NOW I ASK:
How many years did these guys serve their states as governors and deputy governors? Is it more than 8years? Is that a reason to be entitled to pensions for life? Even if they are entitled to pension for life, must it be so outrageous?

As if that is not enough: HOW on earth can any public servant with conscience collect salaries and allowances as a senator or minister, and still have the audacity to claim pensions equivalent to the salaries of a serving governor in Nigeria?

IT ISN'T ROCKET SCIENCE......

Once you are elected a senator or appointed a minister, you must forfeit any pension accruing to you from government at any level until you vacate office. This should also apply to senators collecting military pensions like former Senate President David Mark.

Yet these senators are in the Senate that is inviting the current finance minister to discuss the recession of Nigeria's economy. A senator pockets approximately 30 million naira monthly as salary and allowances. Our "honourables" are not interested to make laws that could restructure our country into economically autonomous federating States/Regions to save the country from sectional agitations that is threatening to destroy Nigeria. The sad and hopeless situation is that the rest of Nigerians are busy arguing based on party, ethnic and affiliations while these enemies of state continue to rape us.

Do you know that it costs tax payers 290m Naira yearly to maintain each member of our National Assembly in a country where nothing works & 80% of population earn below 300 Naira a day ? A working day earning of a senator is more than a yearly income of a doctor; it's more than the salary of 42 Army generals or 48 professors or 70 commissioners of police or more than twice the pay of the US President or 9 times the salary of US congressmen.

It's high time the country had a referendum on those outrageous salaries of Senators, House of Representative members and other political office holders.

*If you are seriously against the looting of our commonwealth in Nigeria, in the name of democracy, you can let this piece go viral by sharing it with as many of your contacts and groups too!*( copied) Dr Bello Diran

That combination will be defeated. Its even better for SE/SS to support Peter Obi for president (even,if he doesn't win ,it will send a message)
waternogetenemy:
The average SS/SE man is preparing to vote Atiku/Obi and escape doom from Buhari.

Atiku so far has not put a foot wrong, he appears moderate and considerate.

Liar, Igbos massively voted for NRC'sTofa-Ugo and MKO only won Anambra State among the Igbo States.
waternogetenemy:
In 1993, Nigeria only free, fair and transparent election, igbos from SS/SE voted heavily for MKO Abiola a yoruba man.

Though an Hausa man made sure he never claimed the presidency.

Yet no type of name these yorubas dont call us.

They tell us on a daily baisis that igbo can never rule.

They lied and voted GEJ out becos they were trying to hide power from igbos.

Yet fail to understand that they only became qualified in 1999 to be president by the sheer negotiation power of Southern Nigeria.

The same south they betray at the drop of a hat. Now they are running back to shout southern Nigeria.

A yoruba man can never win vote in the SS/SE again. Go and mark these words.

As long as igbos have not had their fair representation in the presidency, let us see how a yoruba will ever be president.

Buhari did not die as they planned and looks like he will recontest in 2019. The disappointment want to kill Tinubu.
