Lt. Col Muhammad Abu Ali was killed by blood guzzling vampires otherwise called Boko Haram on November 4 at Mallam Fatori in Borno State. He was 36. He left behind a wife, three young children and parents.

Nigeria and Nigerians mourned him. My. Col Muhammad Abu Ali became a statistic in the collateral damage in the war against terrorism.

Governor Yahaya Bello was on a 2-weeks break when this unfortunate incident occurred. In a condolence message released by his Chief Press Secretary, Governor Bello described the late officer as one of contemporary Nigeria's finest who gave his all in service to his country paying the supreme price in the process. To this end, a high powered state delegation led by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly was at the national funeral held in honour of the fallen officer and some of his colleagues.

On his return to Kogi State, the Governor paid a condolence visit on Brigadier General Abu Ali in his palace at Bassa - Nge.

Expectedly, most of us have moved on but it cannot be that easy for his family to so do. And because we must show we appreciate the sacrifices of those who give their all to keep us safe, the wife of the Governor, Hajia Rashida Bello was with the wife and children on Friday.

Today, Governor Bello, accompanied by the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, is here in Kaduna at the residence of Mrs Samira Abu Ali to commiserate with her and her children. He promises not to forget the family. He says Kogi State government will not just immortalise late Lt. Col Muhammad Abu Ali, government will ensure that they take responsibility for the education of his three children up to university level.

Governor Yahaya Bello extends his condolence to all families and loved ones of all who have lost their lives in the battle against terrorism and calls on the federal government to improve the welfare of our military personnel who are giving everything they have to protect Nigeria's territorial integrity. Furthermore, he urged the federal government not to forget the families of those who have died in active service.

To officers and men of the Nigeria Armed Forces who are in danger zones, Governor Bello says he appreciates their work. He is optimistic that given the commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari to ending insurgency in Nigeria, Boko Haram threat will soon be a thing of the past. He therefore urged them to not lose hope adding that Nigerians acknowledge and appreciate their sacrifices and all they do for Nigeria.

this man is as useless as his oga at the top. this is how he goes around wasting money owned by the whole state. there's no primary school in Kogi state anymore. the public secondary schools are becoming only waec centres. workers are being owed over six months salary. don't ask me how did I know because my mother works with kogi government. this man is a big mistake brought upon kogites by the demise of Audu who would have been a worst syndrome. this is how he went to Aisha's book launch and donated a huge undisclosed sum of money. the only single achievement of this useless man is the demolition of all the roundabout in lokoja because he's told that winches reside there. I keep asking myself, what's the sin Nigerians committed to deserve this senseless set of leaders. are we worst than America that legalized gay marriages, act porn openly? why? why? why? I trust the Igala people, come 2019 they must correct this error.
mind you, I'm not against his donation to the fallen hero, but he's just too useless.

Since this particular set of soldiers died.

Boko Haram have been energized again.

I think their death should be investigated.

If this is just mouth promise then it's not the best, cos govt polices come and go implementation is always an issue but if he had backed it with cash it would have been very good just like governor shetima

Enough of this drama, tired of hearing or seeing Late colonel in the news, what did he do that's different from what other fallen heroes did, as Bill gate said "Life is unfair better get use to it". Checking and getting the record straight he isn't the first solider that has died this year, so why all this now, Nigeria still wallows in a state of menigistina statism, epileptic nepotism, catalytic parapoism.
