NFF Technical Committee Decide Fate Of ‘failed’ Coaches by ferdvict2(m): 6:52am On Nov 21, 2016
MORE than three months after they crashed out of
the qualifiers for the 2017 African Youth
Championship and the African U—17
Championship, the duo of Coach Manu Garba and
Emmanuel Amuneke will soon know their fate
concerning their engagement with the Nigeria
Football Federation (NFF).

The federation has been silent on whether to retain
their services or not, a development that had
confused the affected coaches because in the
interim there is little or nothing they will be doing
with the NFF.

Technical Director of the NFF, Coach Bitrus
Bewarang told Sports Vanguard that the technical
department will be making its position known to
everybody after the meeting which he sad will take
place before the end of the year.

He also revealed that after the said meeting, the
NFF will be speaking on the fate of other national
team coaches like the national U—23 team which
represents the country at both the All Africa Games
and the Olympic Games.

However, Bewarang hinted that the federation will
decide the fate of the coaches based on their
performance, adding that it will not be proper to
just take a blanket decision on all the coaches.

“Yes the technical department and the technical
committee will be meeting very soon hopefully
before the end of the year. That meeting is where
the fate of the national team coaches will be
decided. Honestly, for now there is no decision
taken on them.

“Let me equally add that by what I believe is
reasonable, there will be no blanket decision on
them. Each coach will be assessed based on his
level of performance. Some of them may have lost
out but that does not mean in my opinion that they
are not good coaches. We have to look extensively
into all what contributed in their crashing out.
