FG To Niger Delta Oil Facilities Destruction At Your Own Peril by sarrki(m): 3:38am On Nov 23, 2016
The Federal Government has warned the people of Niger Delta region that the destruction of oil facilities will ultimately destroy their livelihoods, aspirations and future.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo gave the warning at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja yesterday while meeting with a group known as the Urhobo Leaders of Thought led by its president, Chief Tuesday Onoge.

According to the vice president, vandalising pipelines and oil installations in the Niger Delta is akin to destroying facilities meant to help the people of the region.

A statement by Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, quoted Onoge as lamenting that if the funds sent to the Niger Delta in the last 16 years were judiciously spent, the people of the region would have benefited; asking “What happened to these monies?”

Onoge was also quoted as saying that his group condemned the destruction of oil and gas installations in the Niger Delta and promised to assist in ensuring peace in the region.

Who cheated us? We did it to ourselves, yes NNDC was established they have there own budget running into billions of Naira yet you can see a single project from them, there road constructions only ends and compaction of laterite level, there water projects only work for one month, after skill acquisition training they don't empower the beneficiaries. Mind you they sign off monthly budgets for this line items.
I don't belief that they carryout Needs assessment, neither do I belief they work with project managers...
They Asari's, Ayiri's, Tompolo's, Boyloaf etc who are low life's some years back are now billionaires.
owing companies and institutions outside there regions and country, Enjoying all that was meant for a region.
They little community development projects from IOCs this few useless individuals still undermine the process.
Visit Brutu LGA where Edwin Clark is from you will cry.
We are our problem

All these destructions by the militants can be likened to a housemaid crippling and maiming herself cos she doesn't wanna be useful to her boss, all because her boss is maltreating her.
When she is eventually free from the boss, how will she come about treating herself and become useful to herself again?

Well, it is the Nigerian structure, so no need for really castigating the Nigerdeltans.
Attention is towards the center (FG), giving room for the real rapers of the citizens (State Governors), not forgetting these State Governors are also the same set of people that have made the functioning of the local government to stand on the zero value on the number line.

Before oil, did you hear anything like na our cocoa, or na our farm produce? Our Governors get 13% oil derivation, NDDC was created with Money pumped into them, oil companies pay taxes to state government, oil companies pay "deve" to our youths and elders. Oil companies employ some of our people even many that are highly unqualified. Enough might not have been done, but what have be done with the little so far? Even States without oil money are doing better than some of the ND states. How can one explain a state like Bayelsa with just about 8 LGAs, owing up to a year salaries, to even think the immediate Ex-President hails from there makes it more absurd. Before you shout FG, first hold our state governors, NDDC directors, useless elders, lazy youths, then we can talk of the FG. The FG is the government of Nigeria and not government of ND.
