Why did they renounce THE GOSPEL?

They always say that GOD NEVER MANIFESTED HIMSELF TO THEM.

"DID YOU DO WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO, FOR GOD TO MANIFEST HIMSELF TO YOU?"
