Even though, a number of us expected artists like Kiss Daniel, Tekno and Simi to make the Headies' nominee list for the Artist of the Year, the list is still no doubt an exciting one.

Arguably, the leading contenders for this highly coveted category among the nominees is Wizkid and Falz.

Wizkid on his part, has within the last 12 months become a global phenomenon, with collabos with A-list artists such as Chris Brown, Tennie Tempah, Justin Skye, Alicia Keys and a couple of others, which has made him a recipient of top continental and intercontinental awards.

On the other hand, Falz has had an amazing musical year, with hit singles like 'Soft Work', 'Soldier', complemented by a brilliant studio album as well as a host of exciting collaborations.
