Is Ibeju-lekki The New Victoria Island? by ShoProperties(m): 11:29am On Nov 26, 2016
Over the years, Victoria Island has been seen as one of the most desirable places to live in Lagos. Despite the fact that it was also named one of the 13 most expensive places to live in, the cravings for people and businesses to live there has not diminished.

This may be attributed to various factors such as its economic dynamism, commercialization, security, the show of class and much more. It is common knowledge that high demand leads to higher prices, therefore it shouldn’t surprise that it made it to the “most expensive” list or to hear that most of the properties there are so high, they are valued in dollars.

The effect of the above is that it has made it difficult for the average Nigerian to invest in that environment.

All this has changed with the rapid development of the Ibeju-Lekki areas of Lagos. Below are highlighted factors that have made what use to be known as rural Ibeju-Lekki, now foreseen as the next VI.

Economic Dynamism
It is always a desire to live in an environment that blossoms, this has been the exact words that define Ibeju Lekki. This is so due to big names Refinery Project, Dangote industries, Lekki International Airport, Shoprite, Dupri Group Industry and Eleganza industries etc. moving into that area. What used to be a small town is now very populated and with the rate of relocations to that part of town, the numbers are sure to only go up.

Education
Another good feature about Ibeju-Lekki is the availability of good middle and upper class primary, secondary and tertiary schools in that environment. Schools like Greensprings, Corona, Lagos Business School are all within reach

Commercial Haven
Businesses thrive in highly populated areas; hence a lot of business owners are starting or relocating their businesses to Ibeju-Lekki. Malls are springing up and popular brands like Shoprite are scheduled to start a business there before the end of 2016. All these have made Ibeju-Lekki a commercial hotspot for young, growing and established businesses.

High Investment Returns
One of the perks of developing neighborhoods is that the value of land and property are very reasonable. At the moment, an average Nigerian can still own a property in Ibeju-Lekki. However, this will change over the next few years because as the environment grows, so will the value of the lands and properties. In essence, the values of any investment can yield as high as 300% profit in only a few years. That sounds like a great deal to me!
