Renowned human rights lawyer, Mr. Fred Agbaje, is dead.

He died on Saturday after an undisclosed ailment in London.

News of his death flashed through social media although the cause was not known.

Agbaje, who hailed from Akoko Edo in Edo State, was renowned for his robust human rights work and legal insight.

A friend and colleague, Mr. Richard Akinnola, confirmed the news to New Telegraph Newspaper, adding that he last saw Agbaje at the 30th anniversary of the killing of foremost Nigerian newspaper editor, Dele Giwa, on October 19, 2016.
