Under general direction of the Project Manager, the incumbent will develop quality, enterprise-class mobile applications and innovative solutions that address business needs. In addition to daily project work, the incumbent will add to the collective knowledge and capabilities of the team through the exploitation of new technologies and development approaches and the free sharing of ideas within the team.

This is contract position, with possibility of conversion to full time depending on performance. The project is being implemented in the United States, there is possibility of obtaining work permit after conversion to full time.



Responsibilities:

1. Build an innovative, exceptional and well-engineered mobile application with intuitive, well-designed user interfaces that satisfy business needs.

2. Participates in all aspects of the software development process as required, including analysis, design, development, documentation, testing, deployment and support

3. Excels in translating business and technical requirements into well-engineered, tested, and deployed solutions

4. Maintains technical ownership of projects, applications and releases, acts as liaison to other technical teams, and provides troubleshooting and support as required

5. Learns new models, techniques, and technologies as they emerge, integrating knowledge from multiple sources to bring new solutions to business problems

6. Disseminates knowledge to rest of team as appropriate

7. Assists in defining processes, procedures, tools and standards for the Mobile Delivery Team

8. Leads and mentors other team members in general software development principles as well as specific technologies

9. Contributes to the achievement of ABC organizational goals and objectives



Experience and Education:

2+ years of native mobile application development experience for the iOS or Android platforms and demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:

Cross-platform mobile development using Appcelerator, Xamarin, RhoMobile, PhoneGap, Sencha or similar technologies

Mobile Javascript frameworks such as JQuery Mobile, Titanium, Sencha Touch, Knockout.js, Node.js

Knowledge of one or more design patterns including MVC/MVP/MVVM UI

Cloud integration using RESTful web services and JSON

In rare cases, the above mobile development experience can be substituted with extensive javascript-based enterprise web development experience combined with a knowledge and passion for the mobility space

Knowledge of enterprise-related mobile development challenges such as back-end and cloud integration, app security, scalability and performance

Knowledge of, and the ability to apply, standard UXD principles as they relate to the target platform

Familiarity with source code version control systems including concepts such as trunks and branches

Thrives working within an Agile environment and all that it implies

Position requires a degree in computer science, information systems or related field; a diploma with sufficient work experience and expertise will be considered



Skills and Aptitudes:

Passion and enthusiasm for building quality mobile software

Intellectually curious, yet practical and focused; Self-motivated

Strong user knowledge of the mobility space, including applications, standards, use cases and trends

Ability to independently research solutions, evaluating their validity in solving the problem at hand

Comfortable working in a fluid environment; accepting of change and sometimes unclear requirements

Team-orientation and mutual respect are essential to this role. Incumbent is able to handle the normal give and take between team members and strives to resolve conflicting approaches through acceptable compromises

Basic understanding of business fundamentals and the role of IT within the organization

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with both technical and functional teams

Strong organizational skills with a natural attention to detail

Assessment:
As part of the assessment, selected candidates will undergo a two-week mock project where they will design and launch a mobile application.
