Sibrah:
N7.2TR may translate to highest budget ever in local currency. But in foreign currency equivalent that's needed to import our usual N976bn/month of foreign needs it is one of the lowest budget ever.

as long as I can remember, you hailers have always asked if dollar or pound is Nigeria's local currency. And such shouldn't be used to ascertain the worth of a country's economic prowess.

So it is indeed hypocritical when u are the same person referring to the same exchange rate to justify a high budget which translate to emptiness. An increase in the budget figures has not translated to increased salaries for workers.

It has not translated to improve in the average life of the average citizen.
It has not translated to improve in infrastructure development.
The prices of local commodities are well beyond the reach of even the influential ones.
So here I ask you. What exactly are you trying to defend.? Cos it beats my imagination when people who are perceived to be literate, rational and intelligent are the ones openly supporting mediocrity, inefficiency and ignorance. A higher budget, whether in local or foreign currency should translate to a better and good living standard for the citizenry.
A rational mind would question the reason for the increase in the 2016 budgets over that of the 2015 one especially as that one ( higher one) ensured a bizarre living condition for the citizenry. A higher 2017 budget should tickle our reasoning mind chiefly on the backdrop of the reality that the higher 2016 budget didn't achieve anything tangible other than suffering for the average citizen.

That's all he does, to propose and never to implement to the end. Nobody is asking him about 2015 budget and that of 2016, how did I end up in this kind of country ooh?!!

Let me agree ahead that 2016 budget was underperformed.......but......

Do the smart thing. Get the details of the performance of the 2016 budget, do a breakdown analysis and tell the world how badly the performance was. Unfortunatley I doubt if you have the capacity to do so.

Bros both arguments(yours and mine) are valid, the question is which one outweights the other? We spend approx. N160bn/month on FG worker salary, but according to a CBN official on the thread about "Using the wrong tool to address recession", we spent N976bn/month for import. Do the maths and jugde which one outweights the other.

Hope this one is not very much padded as usual

BTW I guess an incremental budgeting system is the basis on which this was prepared

How about we trying out the zero based budget for once
the current one is zero based budget. so no carrying over of some uncompleted project, everything will be completed within the set fiscal year.

Someone, maybe his aid should just pour a hot lead into his Fulani brain.

Waste of lead. I'd rather we used our lead for the soldiers who need extra lead in their weaponry to fight terrorism.

Bubu's brain is best left alone. Rather we should examintthe brains of those who cant find anything wrong with Bubu's administration
