Mother of Brazilian footballer killed in Colombian plane crash says she had a feeling the flight was doomed… then neighbours said her son was dead


Mother of Chapecoense striker Tiago, 22, had 'bad feeling' about flight

Barbara Rocha said she had 'felt restless all day' and could not sleep

Just over a week ago, Tiago had discovered he was going to be a father

Only six of the 77 people - footballers and journalists - on board survived 

Today an audio tape emerged suggesting the plane had run out of fuel.

His 18-year-old wife, Graziele, surprised him with the news and his joy was recorded on video as his teammates embraced and celebrated with him

The family who live in Bom Jardim, a municipality in the mountainous Serrana region of the state of Rio de Janeiro, said they are planning to bury Tiago in the city where he was born.

Mrs Rocha said: 'We're just waiting for the legal proceedings to be sorted out and for his body to be released.'

She said Tiago was playing at his peak and was 'at the best stage of his life'.

Covering her face with her hands, Mrs Rocha cried as she said: 'I don't know what to say, I have no explanation about why he has been taken from us so early.'

Pointing to her heart, she added: 'But he's here. My son was a wonderful boy.'​
