Many African countries do not like us but how do you accept this:

The minister said that Nigeria had received many requests from “our African brothers” seeking crude allocation, noting that President Umaru Yar’Adua had consistently felt that those requests should be viewed positively, particularly where there is capacity for refining crude oil. Responding, the Senegalese delegation led by Sarr affirmed that his country was indeed a success story with regard to having a refinery producing at optimal capacity. He attributed the achievement to valuable advice given by President Yar’Adua to his delegation comprising the management of the refinery in August 2007 about how a corporation should be managed. He said this advice led to the turnaround of a once comatose refinery. According to Sarr, Yar’Adua assured that their refinery would receive the crude oil to be refined directly from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), thereby discarding the practice of selling the contract for lifting oil to traders.

And finally this:

Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Odein Ajumogobia, has disclosed that Nigeria is considering the possibility of processing some of its crude offshore to make petroleum products directly available to the country. He explained that the economy has grown bigger than the country's refining capacity hence the need to look into other available options. The minister argued that even if all refineries are working at optimal capacity, Nigeria would probably be importing more than 40 per cent of its requirement given the economic expansion. Ajumogobia spoke yesterday when he received a six-man delegation from Senegal led by their Minister of Energy and Bio-fuels, Mr. Samuel Amete Saar, in his office at the NNPC Towers in Abuja.

How can someone in her right senses say a non living entity has gone mad? These people dont think at all, they just write anything for the sake of criticising. And what is the meaning of what is written here? Poster, i think it is someone else who has gone mad, and the finger is actually pointing at you - a non living entity can not go mad, darling.

Why not - If the entity is demonstrating mad attributes - The term Nigeria would relate to the people at the helm of affairs

and also relate to the people inhabiting the entity.

Why should Nigeria allocate crude oil to 'African Brothers' that do not like us.

Why cant Nigeria sell these 'african brothers' refined petroleum product??

We could use them to provide employment for our jobless folks and reduce armed robbery, area boyz etc.

In less than 3 years Nigeria can build any number of refineries it needs to meet local demand of refined products.

But it seems the plan is not to provide that need locally, maybe the main plan is to keep some people wealthy and rich from importing the finished products.

How can a country as big as Nigeria depend on other countries (some of them as small as some states in Nigeria) to get refined petroleum even when it exports crude to other countries including developed nations?

Nigeria is uniquely and embarrassingly behaving like a confused nation.

Afam took the words out of my mouth. The country is not mad YET. It is only confused and delirious.

My country has not gone mad yet just that we have senseless leaders who take things for granted. But I believe we shall see the goodness of God in this Nigeria very soon.

What is wrong with re-finding the products here in Nigeria. They should issue licence and give way for private refineries,

Corruption and looting strive in chaos. The present crop of leaders can never make nigeria better because if they do,all the loop holes for stealing will close and that is contrary to their manifestos of destruction and looting.
