Two months after the Lagos State Government completed the official commissioning of the first phase of 114 Roads project across the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs in the State, the government has announced it will deliver another 114 roads in 2017.
As a result, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode during his last town hall meeting held at the Indoor Sports hall, Sir Molade Okoya Thomas Complex, Surulere, disclosed that the process for rehabilitating another 114 roads has commenced.
This was also buttressed after Amode presented the 2017 appropriation bill for approval by the Lagos State House Assembly. In the budget, Ambode listed roads across parts of the Mainland which will be rehabilitated once the 2017 budget is passed.
According to the Ambode, road construction, rehabilitation and maintenance would be one of the key focuses of the budget. He stressed that efforts would be geared towards roads that will open up the hinterlands, improve connectivity in the State and reduce travel time.
