the story as posted by BBC goes like this:

1. the woman met the attacker on the playground where she'd taken her son

2. She asked him to get off the swing so her son could get on.

3. the man got angry and exchanged words with her, calling her a terrorist and Islamist.

4. she sued him to court, and judgement was passed in her favour. The man was fined 780 euros

5. He appealed, and at his next court appearance, came in with a knife and attacked her.


the woman's husband was also stabbed while trying to defend her. He was also shot in the leg by security guards who thought he was the attacker.

He has since returned to Egypt with his son and has no plans to return to Germany. He's a molecular biologist.
