Although yet to be officially announced by the Country's National electoral body as the winner of the December 7 general elections, Mr. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is about to break the jinx.


Since the beginning of the Fourth Republic, previous Presidents of the Republic of Ghana all bore the name "John" and as an independent observer you wonder if this is mere coincidence or a norm.

Fourth Republic started in 1993 with:

1. John Jerry Rawlings 7/01/93 - 7/01/01
2. John Kuffor 7/01/01 - 7/01/09
3. John Atta Milla 7/01/09 (Died in office)
4. John Dramani Mahama 24/07/12 to date

Either a myth or norm or ritual, whatever it is or isn't, Ghana is about to have a fifth successive President;

5. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo (YET TO BE CONFIRMED)!
