: The University Of Ilorin non Accademic staff union NASU vowed to occupy the school gate if allowances owned to them were not paid to enable them cater for their families up coming during cristmas and new year celebration.The member who stage a protest at the town of ilorin in taiwo area of the kwara state decried their living conditions.One of the protester who spoke with us on phone said that they had beenowed arrear of 15 month even as other of their demands had also fallen on deaf ears. protester vowed that the group would continue to protest utill their demand were met. He said if you recollect the last time we had a parley meeting with the university vice chancellor that promise somtime in september 2015 to pay the allowances and implementation starting by January2016 which was documented in the university bulletin. we had on from of official response to our demands and it is as a result of that we decided to take the protest without lead. To prove our point,sometime in september 2016 they had meeting which union leader and made another unfultilled promises as they us to do to pay the senior staft who where entittle to N30,000 monthly allawance to the reduction of N20,000 and junior staff N15,000 monthly to N19,000 at the end with only see N5,000 in each account when the convocation ceremony is approching just not short down the ceremony with protest. we were stopped with N5,000. this is to prove fact has speak him self. we will abide by our words. we want to give the benefit of doubt. one of our demand for the past N15 months should be paid but they were exempted. We are growing from one level of protest to another. We do not know what we are going to do next but definitely we will not keep quiet if they do not reach out us for this Cristmans and New Year on 20th tuesday we have something in mind".It another end of the year which a bag of rice will be destribute to eat with our families for another year.
