"How long should a believer go to church and be taught by a Pastor, before he can know enough to not need to be taught anymore?

Remember,

No one teaches the Pastor

Also, we've studied books(text books) bigger than the Bible in schools and at regulated periods."

Christians please let's reason together.

The truth is that you don't need to go to church or see a pastor to be taught.
Jesus said the Holy spirit will teach you. My dear, you don't need to go to church. Listen to the Holy Spirit

Every pastor has a teacher. They are called mentors. Every successful professor is a life time student except in Nigeria.

So, that means, there is someone up there, who has no mentor; cos, his mentor is dead and there is no Pastor old enough to mentor him.

Who will mentor such a fellow?

So, why do we go to church?

Please construct your grammar well, I can't make a meaning out of what you wrote.

I don't know why you go to church. If you go to church to be taught, you've missed it. It's only Jesus through the Holy Spirit that can teach His sheep.

That's as plain as it can get;

There is hierarchy in the Church thing; following what you wrote, "Pastors have mentors whom they learn from"

I'm asking, who mentors the man at the top of the "chain of hierarchy"?

If you don't understand this time; You can give someone to read and explain to you.

I understand you now. Firstly, you need to know that a mentor or a teacher must not be alive to teach or mentor you. You also need to know that you can have more than one mentors or teachers.

One scientist was credited to saying, "I went far because I stood on the shoulder (past teachers)of they that were before me".

Isaiah 51:2 Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

Paul said,"be followers of me, even as I am a follower of Christ". He did not say follow Christ but him, why? Because not every has the spiritual maturity to interpret most of Christ teachings. It is the function of a teacher to do that.

Even in our circular schools, some students come upon a little knowledge and assume they have arrived and can teacher their teachers.

No student can grow in knowledge more than his teacher unless he/she has another teacher who knows more than the teacher.

Any pastor without a teacher can't command a large congregation for a long time.

You can't become a reference without making reference to others. No one will ever take you serious. You can ask the source seeking club of nairaland
