A Collapse Too Many; Worship Centres As Sacrificial Slabs by caiyenigbablog(m): 2:02pm On Dec 11, 2016
The collapse of the structure housing the Reigners Bible Church located in Km 1 along Uyo Road is very unfortunate not only for the number of casualties reported but because of the discriminatory manner nature selected the victims. Once again, life has proved its unfairness and reiterated the inequality of men.
This is not the first time we have experienced the collapse of buildings especially places of worship but what makes this annoying is the obvious readiness of majority of Nigerians to gullibly swoop on any place proclaimed to have solutions to all manner of problems any human can encounter.
The sordid situation of Nigerians in the hell the county is has made many susceptible to the wiles of agents of the devil decked in flamboyant costumes and flashy suits. The Synagogue Church of All Nations saga is still fresh in our memories and one begin to wonder when this will end.
A place of worship by whatever name we, out of intent and convenience call it ought to be a sanctuary for those faced with the vicissitudes of life in search of succour, a place of relief of the pains life has thrown at them. Unfortunately, the supposed places of refuge are actually abodes of reproach. This is expected because some proclaimed House of God are actually “Shrines of the gods”
Consequently, the gods must be appeased and sacrifices becomes unavoidable. In a moronic manner akin to that of the sheep being led to slaughter, thousands on daily basis go to Tabernacles founded to meet the financial needs and prodigious living of individuals who have pacts with the devil.
That the consecration of a Bishop called of God will require so much in terms of life is really confusing. Our penchant for fawning sycophancy (eye service) in this clime is a thing of concern and it contributed to the high toll in casualties. It is intriguing and annoying that the Governor whose expected attendance contributed to the overwhelming crowd narrowly escaped the needless carnage.
We have a warped system that still permits quackery in the construction sector in and we continue to sacrifice our people on the altar of incompetence, greed and callousness of some individuals.
The contractor should be fished out and collaborators in this genocide apprehended and prosecuted if only it will deter the murderers in our midst roaming around in cassocks, suits and coveralls.
The Bishop-Designate should take responsibility for this unfortunate but avoidable calamity. I refuse to judge but asking for those responsible for the hideous spectacle with the collapse of Reigners Bible Church will really not be asking too much.
As usual, NEMA is reeling out figures largely in contrast to reality and if Mallam Garba Shehu is really expressing the mind of PMB on this issue by congratulating the Governor for the narrow escape, then the display of insensitivity has reached a new height; making the famous azonto dance of Ex-President Jonathan after the Nyanya bombing pale into insignificance.
As we pray for the repose of the souls of departed, let the living be wary and be in full supplications to be led by God to discern between the altar of Christ and sacrificial slabs of the devil.
