High court judge and wife arraigned on 15 count charge of corruption Couple hide faces from press cameramen The federal government of Nigeria on Tuesday arraigned a federal high court judge, Justice Ademola Adeniyi and his wife, Olubowale on a 11 count charge of abuse of office and corruption. Olubowale is facing four counts involving the alleged N30 million gratification. Both were arraigned before a high court of the FCT, Abuja. Ademola is one of the judges whose homes were raided by the DSS. He was arrested on October 8th on allegations of corruption. Adeniyi and his wife reportedly collected huge sums of money both in local and foreign currency to alter the course of justice in favor of their paymasters. Adeniyi was scheduled to be arraigned on December 5th by the office of the attorney general but was halted as the judge was yet to be served with the originating summons for his trial. Prosecuting counsel, Segun Jegede stated that the couple bail trial will not be opposed but asked the presiding judge to demand from the couple, a signed undertaking that they shall attend trial and not interfere/tamper with evidence or influence witnesses.
