Minister for Transportation, Mr Rotimi Ameachi yesterday, assured officers of the State Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) caught on camera, snatching ballot boxes during the last Saturday rerun elections in Rivers State of protection by the federal government.

Amaechi gave the assurance during a meeting held at his residence yesterday and it had in attendance the Officer in Charge (OC) SARS, Mr Akin Fokarade, ACP Stephen Hasso, Senator Magnus Abe, Hon Barry Mpigi, Rotimi Ameachi and some other stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mr Akin Fokalade and ACP Steven Hasso who were said to have arrived together in an ash coloured Toyota Camry car looked visibly shaken.
They were however assured by Rotimi Ameachi that they would not be left alone as they had done a good job for the APC. Minister Ameachi reminded them of the press statement made by the IGP praising their conduct during the election and assured them of total protection from the police high command.

I told the PDP blood sucking pary that their time is up in rivers state. Wike created cultist and thugs in rivers state supervising the killings of innocent people in rivers state last year. He did the same thing again this year not knowing PMB used the security operatives to calm and stop the cults and thugs attack. It will be been more bloody than last year. Thank God to the security operatives. Wicked wike deal is to shed innocent blood in rivers state for sacrifice. APC supporters in Rivers state have staged a solidarity rally for Nigerian police.According to them, full investigation into the bribery audio tape indicting Governor Wike should be carried out.They were pictured with various placards with many inscriptions like 'bloodthirsty Wike on the prowl again' and more.

Hon Asita and other APC leaders used the avenue to hand over the audio tape of leaked Wike tape to the police
