Magu May Be Confirmed On One Condition – Senate by TheHerald: 8:09am On Dec 17, 2016
The Senate has said it may confirm the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Ibrahim Magu as the chairman of the anti-graft agency only on a condition.

The upper chamber said it may change its decision on the confirmation of Magu as EFCC chairman if President Muhammadu Buhari presents an explanation for it to do so.
The Senate had rejected Magu’s nomination on Thursday citing a security report by the Department of State Services, in which he was accused of various corruption-related offences as the reason.

Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Sabi Abdullahi said it was left for the President to take the next action.

He said, “This is not an issue that is ambiguous and I will not take issue with anybody. What we have said is very straightforward and unambiguous. It is not our responsibility or in our power to tell Mr. President what to do.

“It is his prerogative and for every action taken, there must be a basis. Let him take any action but, of course, he will base his action on explanations. If that happens, we will take his explanations based on their face value and see. Until then, our decision is very simple. It is unambiguous; that is what we said from the beginning and that is what we stand by.”

How can you use Darkness to fight Darkness?

A corrupt man (Magu), fighting selective corruption.

Let Buhary be bold enough to justify to the senate why a corrupt Magu should be the one that can successfully fight corruption without continuous compromise.

since magu is corrupt, can u suggest another individual that is not corrupt nd that can replace magu

Look these senators are looking out for their own interest ni,they knw their smelly nyash might be blown open if magun remains,so they want a puppet that wont look their way, thus their rejection of magu

All of them are rogues, fraudsters and looters.

High number of our Sinators are former governors with corruption cases.

However, the style Magu is using to fight his own corruption is also corrupt... Selective corruption fight.

If Nigeria would ever see reduction in its corruption rate, it must be a TOTAL WAR AGAINST CORRUPTION AND CORRUPT ELEMENTS without fear nor favor to any party.

May all looters of our common wealth never find peace in this life and the life to come everlasting. Ameen!
