Do These Bible Verses Contradict Each Other? by Tastemoney(m): 11:52am On Dec 18, 2016 |
This morning while I was going through my Bible, I came across some Bible verses that seem to contradict each other. One verse warns against calling somebody A FOOL, while the other supports it. See below Math 5:22 "But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou FOOL, shall be in danger of hell fire" meanwhile. Ecclesiastes 10:2-3 "A wise person chooses the right road; A FOOL takes the wrong one . You can identify FOOLS just by the way they walk down the street" Christians in tha house should pls clarify these bible verses for me.. Lalasticala, seun abeg do something.

I think I get the perspective from which the op is arguing. if I'm correct, he is simply wondering why the first text is cautioning against calling someone a fool while the second text actually refers to some people as fools. however, the challenge the op has, in this case, is lack of understanding in the contexts these texts were rendered. in the first text, Jesus was simply talking about anger management!...how to not to act in a rash manner while angry. the second text simply expounds how to live wisely and not foolishly....in summary, there isn't any contradictions. 1 Like |

Tastemoney: It is a fool that chooses the wrong way;Hell, and earlier what you read in Mathew 5 was saying don't condemn an unbeliever by the word of ur mouth to hell by saying how unfortunate hell-bent sinner he is if you are doing nothing about his condition by either preaching or praying for him. So what the first scripture is saying is that don't condemn an unbeliever(a fool who chose the wrong way) to hell by condemnation of the word of your mouth. The second passage in Ecclessaistes is saying, the way of the wise(saint, belever) ends in heaven(or the right way) while the way of the fool(unbeliever) ends in Hell(wrong road). There is no contradiction bro.It is like the scripture that says 'the Lord knows the way of the righteous but the way of the wicked shall perish'. |
