|Dana Air Gets IOSA Operations Safety Certificate by supomi: 10:07am On Dec 21, 2016|
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) on Monday, presented its International Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) certificate to Dana Air Air.
The certificate was presented to the airline’s Accountable Manager , Mr. Obi Mbanuzuo by IATA’s Area Manager, South West Africa, Dr Samson Fatokun, in Lagos.
The IOSA programme is an internationally recognized and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airlines.
According to the Accountable Manager of Dana Air, Mr Obi Mbanzuo, passing the IOSA audit is a double for us, as we earlier passed a similar audit conducted by NCAA.'' We are glad to be operating on the same level of safety with other world-class airlines.''
The Area Manager South West Africa IATA, Dr. Samson Fatokun, said ''I want to commend Dana Air for achieving the mileage of being on the IOSA registry. It is commendable because iT came after a lot of hard work from the airline. It involves the whole management chain starting from the chairman, to the cleaners''
Commenting further, Fatokun said Safety is a concern in the industry, and our number one priority is safety and security. Nobody will board your plane if your safety standard is not up to date. For Dana Air to have achieved this, it shows the management is ready and I enjoin you not to relent. I will encourage you to apply for the next stage and that will be more stringent. ''
It will be recalled Dana Air is the only Nigerian Airline to have undergone an operational audit conducted by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and its partners, Flight Safety Group.
The airline having airlifted over 4.5 million passengers, recently celebrated its 8th anniversary with a commitment to provide safe, reliable and world-class air transport in Nigeria
