How Do We Prevent Future Collapses? by Nobody: 2:04pm On Dec 21, 2016
I believe the professors, doctors and other academics have launched a full fledged research into the recent spate of building collapse in the country.

But for Engineers practising, builders, contractors and other field Personel, what is being done? Over the past few months, we've had serious cases...from the Gwarinpa collapse in Abuja, the Lagos Saga to the recent Akwa ibom sad events, it pains us to the marrow when we hear about another building falling down.

It is said that when doctors kill, they kill one at a time, but when Civil Engineers kill, they kill in hundreds. This trend must not continue. A lot have been hypothesised about the issue; inferior materials, unwholesome practices, cutting sharp corners Abbl.

Do well have Civil Engineers who are experienced in resuscitating dilapidated building on this forum?

Do we have people who knows what the government of the day is doing about this issue?

The lawyer-led ministry of works, housing and power, what is going on?

Our builders who were on the site of the failed structures, what did they do wrong? How can this be avoided in the future?

Can we forestall any future occurrence?
