Now that post utme had been cancelled, admission criteria is based on utme score and O-level grade alone. Different universities screened student with different methods. Therefore when choosing a tertiary institution, it better to choose the one that favour you more in accordance with your O-level result or your strength if you are about to write WAEC/NECO. Some uni's use five subjects whole other use more. I will use OAU, UI, UNILAG and maybe EKSU screening methods as a case study. I'll state their screening method and the type of O-level result that best fit each school. If you know the screening methods of any other school, you can come in to help. Thanks.

they plus it together, they'll divide your jamb by 8 and add it with your o level. .

How to CALCULATE UI Screening point The management of University of Ibadan has released the scores of candidates who participated in the 2016 admission screening exercise. Candidates can access their scores by logging in to the Admission portal with your Jamb Registration number. The SCORING SYSTEM used to determine candidates' score is stated below; 1. WAEC/NECO: A1(6), B2(5), B3(4), C4(3), C5(2), C6(1). For the five relevant subjects the scores are added together to get X. Score = (X/30) x 50 = O’level points (50) 2. JAMB/UTME: Jamb scores / 8 = Jamb points (50) Add O’ level + Jamb points = Weighted Scores (100) 3. For 2 sittings The first examination based on date is taken as the template for all candidates with two sittings. The deficiency from this template is picked from the second sitting but the points from the second sitting are divided by 2.

If someone score 280 in UTME and has B3 in all the 5 required subject for his/her course
UTME point
280/8=35
O-level point
(4*5/30)*50=20/30 * 50= 33.33
Aggregate point =35 +33.33=68.33

Assuming the student use two sitting:
If the person passed only three of the five required subjects and had B3 in the three subjects in first O-level result. And in the second O-level result , the person passed the remaining two subjects and
had C4 in both.
UTME point
280/8=35
O-level point
(4+4+4 + 3/2 +3/2)/30 *50
15/30 *50=25
Aggregate point= 35+25=60

If you will choose UI, it's better you get JAMB brochure now and know your Five required subjects and devote more time and energy to it.
