Satguru Maharaji ji, the founder of One Love Family sect, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to constitute a Price Control Board in order to ameliorate the impact of the current economic recession on ordinary Nigerians.

He also told newsmen in Ibadan on Sunday that a price control mechanism would strengthen the Naira.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the sect leader spoke at a news conference which was part of activities to mark his 69th birthday.

He said the government should also do the following:

1. Our government should reduce the price of cement to N300 to enable the country build homes for its people and if need be, government should empower Nigerians to import cement to bring prices down.

2. The Nigeria Airways should be revived with the old buildings and structures rehabilitated in order for the country to compete with small nations which have notable airlines like Ethiopia, Cameroun and Kenya,” the sect leader said.


3. He also called for a reduction in airfares for local travels within the country to a flat rate of N15,000.

4. Maharaji ji argued that state governments should be allowed to acquire planes in partnership with stakeholders as well as oil blocks.

He accused Nigerian banks of operating as traders instead of being “ beacons of enterprise, reconstruction, innovation and productive activities.’’

5. The sect leader called on government to compel all oil companies to release two percent of their gross profits for research in universities

6. The local refineries built by militants should not be destroyed but improved upon since they are inventions made out of necessity.

He, however, expressed gratitude to the president on the steps taken so far at “ retrieving ’’ the Ajaokuta Steel Company, saying the organisation was capable of promoting meaningful industrial progress.

Price Control Board is actually making sense

The greedy traders will make less profit , some of them make at least 200% on each stock or item , blaming it all on forex and high transportation cost , meanwhile they are still selling what they have in their warehouse

There will be transparency , All imports will be declared, Customs will be aware and be paid their dues , which means we'll know who has what and the cost they bought it , so all these lies about cost increasing from source will reduce

There are so many more advantages but i am sure those greedy traders will want to fight back


Citing PMS as example , ever since that regulatory board said petrol must not sell more than 145, I have seen 140, i have seen 142 , i even heard of 138 , all these prices without subsidy , which means these people make excessive profits at the expense of citizenry another form of looting that was never investigated, i remember a few years back and several months ago to be precise , petrol sold for as much as 450 in Lagos and upto 600 in the east


Price Control Board is the way to go , we should also arrange for farmers and encourage farming by all means , as a matter of fact , Farming should be a must for every nigerian, even if it's a garden , we add that to constitution there'll be excessive food to eat, sell and export , i mean real food unlike Phantom Ugwu export stories

Maharaja ji is right on all points. Dangote should be pleaded with to bring down Cement price. CBN should not buy or import Dollars at more than N150:1$ and sell at not more than N155 to N160:1$. There should be Price Control mechanism to bring all prices down to one quarter of what they are now.
