Hon.Timothy Golu, chairman House committee on Legislative Budget and Planning, has appealed to Nigerians to be fair to legislators as they discharge their duties. He made the call while granting an exclusive interview to takemygist.com citing running costs being given to lawmakers as insufficient for the work they have to do for their constituents.

The lawmaker, who represents Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal constituency of Plateau State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), pointed out that several hitches are hindering members from meeting up with commitments in their constituencies. He mentioned some of these as being immobility, saying “there are members who didn’t come to National Assembly with cars and some who don’t have cars now. How do we do the work when we are not even mobile as representatives of people? Things are not how they used to be. For instance, somebody will not contest for an election and just be announced as the winner because he belongs to a particular group.”
