Greatest Nigerian Students

In keeping to his oath of office to protect the rights of every Nigerian Student, Comr. Aruna Kadiri have penciled down University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State and Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Edo State “a top priority in 2017” for inhuman rustication of 23 students and arbitrary increase in school fees respectively.

To put the record straight, NANS under the proactive leadership of Comr. Aruna Kadiri, has never and will never support any administrative rascality. His administration is passionate about the plight of politically victimized students and wherever they exist, we shall deploy all at our disposal in ensuring their reinstatement. For the avoidance of doubt, he will personally lead all such struggles unless it becomes absolutely impossible to do so.

Recall, during his campaign he promised that if elected president his administration will be passionate about the plight of politically victimized students, restoring their rights and liberties shall be one of our main policy thrust.

Without mincing words, NANS condemn in totality the recent rustication of UniPort Students which from all indications was political and call for their immediate reinstatement and compensation accordingly. The action is viewed by the Comr. Kadiri-led administration as a direct confrontation of NANS and a deliberate attempt to test our might. His leadership is willing and ready to deploy all at her disposal in ensuring their reinstatement. The right of every Nigerian students is a priceless asset.

Also, in line with NANS charter of demand for qualitative and affordable education in Nigeria for every Nigerian Students, we stand on our earlier demand regarding the tuition hike of AAU Ekpoma. The management must return school fees to Status Quo and it is non-negotiable.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) under Comr. Aruna Kadiri's watch has therefore after exhausting all channels of dialogue settled to confront these two institutions with mega protest capable of crippling both academic and non-academic activities in the schools since the anti-students decisions taken by the authorities hasn't been reversed. The school managements should be ready for our direct confrontation for its the only language they understand.

Lastly and most importantly, in the spirit of Aluta, we call on fellow students, stakeholders and supporters to remain calm and wait for further instructions from us. Together we march, together we shall succeed. Viva Aluta!
