a Club Accountant at the Shell Club, Port Harcourt

Job Title: CLUB ACCOUNTANT

Job Description
Reporting to the Club Manager, the successful candidate will be
required to furnish accurate, timely and reliable financial data and
reports to guide and support decision-making at the Management
Committee and Club Manager's level.
He/She will be taking care of the financial transactions in the club.

Responsibilities
The job is a managerial position so the successful candidate will be
expected to have some managerial experience to enable the effective
handling of the club's human and material resources. The successful
candidate will directly supervise the Accounts Assistant position
with the club.

On a routine basis, the successful candidate will be responsible for
the preparation of periodic financial reports for the Management
Committee; Hon. Treasurer, Club Manager, and for the club's annual
AGM. He/she will also maintain the organisation's fixed asset
register, prepare bank reconciliation, staff salaries, monitor and
maintain the club's account/budget within SPDC system, raises cheques
for signatories, liaises with banks, inland revenue offices,
facilities users and patrons. He/she will also collate inputs from
various sections and prepare the Club's consolidated annual budget.

The successful candidate, will also participate in and render
financial and accounts services on exigency basis or when required
for committees, special events and adhoc jobs.

Experience and Qualification Required
A good first degree or HND in Accounting or Economics from a
reputable University or Polytechnic.
At least 5 years post NYSC experience in the hospitality industry,
oil and gas or an accounting firm is required.

Relevant professional certificate (ICAN, ANA etc.) will be an added
advantage. COMPUTER LITERACY IS VERY IMPORTANT and compulsory for
this job position as most of the accounting jobs are IT based.
Proficiency required in the use of MS excel, MS words and other
accounting packages. Candidate must also possess good analytical
skills.

Age: Between 29 - 40 Years.
