Why Manufacture Cars That Exceed Maximum Speed Limit? The Answer Is Here. by geunik(m): 3:09pm On Jan 03, 2017
Speed limit is a way of checking road accidents. The limit for vehicles differ from one type of car to another. It also varies from one type of road to another and time of the day. For instance, the limit for a truck on a street is different from a taxi. More so the limit for a truck on the high way is also different from an SUV on same road. Driving at night may have a particular speed limit. Most countries in the world have adopted these limits.

The difficulty in keeping to these limits can be over whelming most of the time. If we have to consider the fact that sometimes the road may be free of commuters and other road users. Why not use all the power available since the road is free. But why will the Government allow a vehicle whose speed is more than the approve speed limit? Good question but here is the reason.

Conditions Of Different Roads In The Country

Manufacturers of these cars have to put them to different test. They must pass these if not they will not be release to the market. These test have to consider a lot of things in ideal world situation. Most of the analysis are usually done with a flat tared road in mind. But this is not always the case when driving. What of the rainy days when there is mud? Must not also forget sand dunes in the dry season. Driving the car uphill can pose serious issues. Loading the vehicle to its capacity are just some of the few things they consider.

If a car that is just carrying a driver is produce to reach the said limit, what happens when it is loaded? What happens when it is going uphill? What happens when it get stuck in a sand dunes or muddy water? At this junction it need more power. And if you do not know power translate to speed. And this speed is what you see when the car is cruising with few occupants and on a flat smooth surface.

One more thing; there is no law against acceleration. That is no law against you powering your car in the shortest time possible to get to the speed limit.

Emergency

There are times also when the limit may not hold you as a citizen. This is especially so during emergency situations requiring speed. Driving above the stated limit becomes necessary as that may save life. But still some high end cars have built in Governors. These devices tend to put a limit to your speed. Some countries wanted to use these devices to their adantage by encouraging car manufactures to set it to third standard. But they rather set it to the standard of the car. What that means is that the limit of the car if exceeded may have dire consequences on the car. There are maximum revolutions for tires, brakes and engines. These must not be exceeded as it may lead to damage to the car.

Duty of Drivers

It is the ultimate responsibility of all road users to obey traffic rules and regulations. Driving why drinking or drunk can affects one's sense of judgement. Also making or receiving call, text, or any other mobile activities can also be dangerous.
