The current fall in oil price cannot automatically translate to lower fuel pump price under the ongoing circumstances, because it would mean less forex earnings to satiate the taste of Nigerians for foreign imported finished goods - some as unnecessary as tooth picks or ogbono and egusi soup that are being manufactured locally in the country; while unfortunately being made to compete detrimentally for the same scarce forex against the importation of more relevant goods.
Don't forget we still have to import petrol since most of our refineries are not functional; while their residual capacity is furthermore being undermined by ND militants.
