We live in an evolving world where yesterday's witchcraft is regarded as today's science. We can't really predict with accuracy what the future holds for us, but with science and technology, everything is possible.

We have witnessed the reign of java phones, we have heard of breakthroughs in medicine, engineering and all fields known to man. Here are some inventions to expect in 2017.

1. A jacket that detects Pneumonia

In Uganda alone, 27,000 children under the age of five die of pneumonia yearly, this is due to the misdiagnosis of pneumonia as malaria. Ugandan engineer Brian Turyabagye designed a smart jacket which accurately diagnose pneumonia by measuring the child's temperature and breathing rate.

2. Wireless smartphone charging.

It has been rumoured that the next iphone may come with this facility.

Several companies are working on the possibility of transferring power to a phone much like a wifi or bluetooth. Ossia, a company working on the tech has already released a wireless charging kit for manufacturers and the first phone with the facility is expected by the end of 2017.

3. Sex dolls

Researchers are currently working on creating a more realistic sex doll. The doll according to Abyss (a company behind RedDoll) wants to offer talking robots with warm, functional Instruments by 2017. A futurologist believes that sex dolls will be available everywhere by 2050.
