Rivers leader praises deceased former Niger governor

Condoles with immediate family and people of Niger

Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has expressed serious sadness over the death of Abdulkadir Kure, a former governor of Niger state.

In a statement signed by Simon Nwakaudu, spokesperson to the governor, Wike said that the late Kure was a true democrat.

The statement read;

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has expressed sadness over the sudden death of former State Governor, Late Engr Abdulkadir Kure, describing the Former Governor as a true democrat who contributed to the consolidation of the nation's democracy.

In a statement on Sunday night, Governor Wike said that he received the message of the death of the Former Niger State Governor with shock.

He said that Former Niger State Governor, Late Engr Abdulkadir Kure died at a time that the nation needs his contributions to further consolidate on the Democratic process.

While condoling with his immediate family and the people of Niger State over his sudden demise, Governor Wike prayed God to grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
