I honestly love it. I’ve driven OTR and Regional and I’ll take driving a tri-axle any time. I make more money after taxes per week than I used to gross when I drove big trucks,and I’m home every night. I work weekends but that’s by choice,and if something breaks on the truck it’s either fixed immediately or they just get me another truck(I’m a company driver) ,we have loads all winter and summer and if I want a break from traffic I can switch to nights if I want. It all depends on your company and how they treat drivers, ours is a really good outfit. I’ve made good friends while working here,I don’t have to deal with dickheads at warehouses,and we are actually encouraged to take breaks,something totally alien to big truck drivers for the most part. You couldn’t get me back into a big truck unless the pay was insanely good and I was home every night and weekends ,which will never happen.
