the minister is right.

the over-emphasis on negativity in our movies makes foreigners, especially fellow africans, believe that its a true portrayal of life in 9JA

When Oprah said that we are all crooks, EVERYONE supported her, so why oppose the minister?

She is right all those juju/canibals/ shrines armed robbers are trash. It also has an effect on the mindset of your average Nigerian they love to hear about juju and armed robbery as long as its not them.

Dora has a point there. i hope they start banning these disgraceful movies till the producers start bringing out better movies of international standards.

I see madam is still clutching at straws, it's funny how she manages to blame everyone else except her rogue collegaues. The day she admits that those at the helms of leadership are part of the problem i'll begin to to take her seriously.

it's called a movie for a reason. it's not meant to be taken as real.

nollywood may be trash but their priority is making a profit and not enhancing nigeria's image.

The funny thing is Nigerians really do believe the images they see about the west. They believe that all are making money easily and that people live in luxury. They prefer that image over he reality, even when told by those who live abroad.

They DO believe the hollywood/buckingham palace fairy tales and it wont budge from it until they see the harsh realities with their own eyes. thats why some risk life and limb (literally) trying to get here with the belief they are coming to a paradise.

Just the same way, those whos only exposure to Nigeria/ns is Nollywood will believe that there has to some truth in it, because we are the ones telling the story. No balance is provided at all and these same people will believe what is portrayed about Nigeria/ns until they too see different with their own eyes.
