Mopol Sacks Children Hospital In Ibadan On Child's Death by ibadanchap: 7:42pm On Nov 25, 2009
I just heard on the NTA Ibadan 7 o'clock news how a policeman tear gassed an emergency ward in a children hospital (Oni Children Hospital, Ring Road). The child was bought in by the mother Tuesday night and later died. The policeman was informed this morning. In the stampede, 2 children in emergency ward also died.

Police spokesman on TV confirmed the incidence and says it's under investigation but also went on to say the Mopol was called to the hospital to be informed about his child's death, in his agony people held him and in the process the tear gas canister fell down and went off.

I was sad watching the police spokesman talk, you said the incident is under investigation and yet you went on to say what happened, justifying the mopol when he (spokesman) was not there and other eye witnesses, including a man whose child was abandoned under treatment by doctors during the incident, says otherwise.

Do we have hope in Nigerian police?

Thank God the Mopol was not holding a gun that would also have fallen down and gone off.
