A university professor, Aliyu Mani was among the 5 people killed when two suicide bombers entered two mosques at the University of Maiduguri in the troubled northeastern state of Borno and blew themselves up, at least 15 others were seriously injured according to Nigeria's National Emergency Management Agency.

Eyewitnesses told SaharaReporters that suicide bombers hit the university while some students and staff of the university were observing early dawn Fajr prayer at 6:30 a.m Nigerian time.


Before he was killed today, Professor Mani served the university as the Director of Veterinary Services.

I dont understand

Nigerian Muslim should discard the version of Islam practiced in this country and adopt the version of Islam practiced in UAE
The man you are killing is even of your own faith and one of the few who have elevated themselves in academics

No matter how intense any Niger Delta militant activities are, they never kill one of their own

How did we end up in the same country as these fanatics?

It's a shame on our intelligence. These guys make the IED inside town. Why can't we notice convergence of raw materials at a point? The security agencies should sensitize people on the materials used in making these dangerous devices, so that any suspicious supply and movement can be reported . SK Usman

When Boko Haram started, they targetted and bombed churches. They planted bombs in bus parks going to the east and other southern parts of Nigeria. They bombed schools. And while all these were going on, no Muslim cleric condemned it, all the emirs kept sealed lips, the Muslim leaders pretended they weren't seeing it. Infact, at a point, when the military started gaining upper hand over Boko Haram, the same people who had kept quiet started shouting that the govt was initiating a genocide against the north. They all of a sudden found their voice. Even that dullard in Aso rock now who had kept quiet since jumped out and shouted that 'an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the whole North'.

Today, the God of justice has turned 'their Boko Haram' on them.
Boko Haram now bomb mosques. They now murder Islamic clerics. They now attack Muslim villages and kill whoever they get. They now bomb markets and destroy lives of those within it's reach. Issorrai.

Now they are suffering it more.
'Those that live by the sword,die by the sword'

Heartbreaking. The world view of Islam today is terrorism and not peace. The imams needs to preach love for another more often than hate preachings.

You are 100% right, that's why they said when you are living in a glass house never throw stone at anybody because he or she can throw it back to U.

Or don't throw stone into the market because it may hit your own person. Now, that's what is happening... Nevertheless, may the soul of the prof. Rest in peace.
