A third suicide bomber has been intercepted at an area close to the rear fence of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), in Borno State, just as the casualty figure from the early morning twin bomb explosions in the university has risen to four.
Seventeen people have also been confirmed injured in the attack, which occurred around 5am, on Monday.
Among the dead was a professor of veterinary medicine in the university, Aliyu Mani. Others were a yet-to-be-identified infant, as well as the two suicide bombers.
According to Ohi Odiai, head of news at City FM 105.1, in Lagos, a third female suicide bomber of about 12 years was intercepted at Bara Kayari village, behind UNIMAID, in Muna Garage general area, around 8am.....
