The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, has abandoned the construction of its 12-storey new secretariat due to lack of funds.

The Company handling the construction of the edifice, BNL Construction and Engineering has since moved out of site following the inability of the party to provide more funds for the project.

When visited, the site which is located on Muhammadu Buhari Way in the Central Business District of Abuja, had a few staff of the company seen providing security for the uncompleted building. for more info visit: http://www.vintageinfo.com.ng/2017/01/24/pdp-abandons-n16-billion-secretariat-project-despite-raising-over-n27-billion/

That has been the PDP way with federal budgets, and reached new heights with the Jonathan regime. I reckon the budget for the secretariat was also to be funded via the Dasuki ONSA account, while the actual funds raised would have been disbursed to party bigwigs under the pretence of mobilizing for elections, in total departure from the purpose for which it was raised.

If OBJ can grow the foreign reserves despite low oil price and still increase minimum wage. if Yar Adua can also grow the same foreign reserves and still subsidise the economy to the tune of about $16b in the advent of the 2008 global financial crisis. Then I marvel at Jonathan's depletion of inherited foreign reserves from $47b to $30b within 5yrs, despite earning unprecedented high crude oil sales in the first 4yrs of the 5yrs regime.
