Cold day in the summer

its a cold day in the summer
My eyes are wide open
My mind has wondered far

Chills deep to bone
Beads of sweat confluence and streak down my glabella
I shiver and flush

On this cold summer day
My tears and fears lay before me
I am terrified
Horrified as failure rides in like the fifth horse man

The chips are down
Hot within and cold outside
Rigors and chills

On this cold summer day
I could die
So all the pain would go away

But then, I would have failed
