For the very first time in his career as a Manager, Jurgen Klopplost a semi-final cup match as his team Liverpool F.C. were sent packing from the EFL Cup competition by Southampton F.C. at the Anfield Stadium last night. Shane Long was the hero this time around as he scored in the 91st minute forthe saints.

F.c Liverpool earlier had shouts for a late penalty ignored by referee Martin Atkinson after a duel between Jack Stephens and Divock Origi before Shane Long who came in as a substitute decided the encounter just moments later with a very cool finish.

It must be noted that F.C. Liverpool have won just one of their previous six outings this calendar year – a 1-0 FA Cup win over League Two side Plymouth Argyle – and they knew they were in for a very serious task at the Anfield following the 1-0 setback from the reverse fixture, a single strike from Nathan Redmond the difference at St. Mary’s.
