Nigeria has been ranked 136th in Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index 2016, retaining the same spot it was in the 2015 index despite the anti corruption fight by the government.

According to the results, Nigeria shared the 136th rank with Guatemala, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Myanmar and Papua New Guinea.

In 2016 results, Denmark ranked as the top country on the index with a score of 90, followed by New Zealand and Finland.

The lowest ranking countries, meanwhile, were North Korea, South Sudan and Somalia with scores of 12, 11 and 10 respectively.

“This year’s results highlight the connection between corruption and inequality, which feed off each other to create a vicious circle between corruption, unequal distribution of power in society, and unequal distribution of wealth,” the survey stated, adding that over two-thirds of the 176 countries fell below the midpoint of the scale of 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean).

“More countries declined than improved in this year’s results, showing the urgent need for committed action to thwart corruption,” it added.

i seriously fault this result , infact i despise this fraud called result

as the present Government hires thieves/corrupt individuals as ministers and accepts thieves/corrupt officers into his party. And turns a blind when friends are convicted as clear thieves.

we should be a least 170 , let's let another country have some

The world's map statistics show that Asia and Africa are so corrupt.

Australia, Northern Europe and Northern America are clean.

We can deceive ourselves here that the government is fighting corruption but we cannot deceive the world. What pmb is sampling doing in his supposed fight against corruption is the use of insecticide on perceived enemies and deodorant on his friends, according to senator Sunni

Retaining the same position we were in 2015 shows that there is no genuine fight against corruption. All the present administration is doing is silencing opposing voices.
If they wrote it as it should be, by now we should be first on the most corrupt list.
When a president declared a land with no clear location or address as assets, I knew for sure that corruption was about to be given another garment.

But is Nigeria not truly a corrupt nation, let's be honest. This has nothing to do with racism or inferiority complex.
