Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck who has been plagued with a series of injuries of late is on the verge of a come-back to the team as manager Arsene Wenger praised him for showing no fear on his return from a knee injury, and he prepares for a possible start against Southampton this week-end.

26 year old Danny Welbeck has been sidelined since May 2016 with a knee injury which had to be operated upon. He is now ready for a competitive return to the squad.

The chances of Welbeck starting in the FA Cup on Saturday are quite bright as Wenger lauded him for his approach on a comeback.

“He has a chance to start or to come on, yes. He looks sharp, he’s worked very hard. Maybe it will be an opportunity for him,” he said.

“At his age and in his position he was sure to go to the European Championship. What happened to him was unbelievable and he was down for a while, but now he looks to have recovered.
