A proposal for California to secede from the United States was submitted to the Secretary of State’s Office Thursday – January 26, 2017.

The proposed “Calexit” initiative - its name borrowed from the UK's "Brexit" departure from the EU - would ask voters to repeal part of the state constitution that declares California an inseparable part of the U.S.
Would they succeed?

Californians wouldn't dare. The state is bankrupt an Mexico would over run them in a matter of hours if they were to ever dream of breaking away from the safety of the US Army. TX & Cal rotate their screams of leaving the union depending on whether a democrat or a republican is in the White House. Since Trump won it is Cal's turn. When Obama won TX was cryig about how they wanted to breakaway. Nothing will come of this.

I was trying to be kind in my language but really many of their cities are bankrupt. They have neglected agriculture & manufacturing. Sound familiar? Cali is making it due to Hollywood and Silicon Valley and the prison industrial complex. This is what happens when an electorate votes in a washed up movie star to govern their affairs for the better part of a decade.

Do a web search of "California bankrupt" and go through the recent articles. I only pulled a few but there is a plethora for you to choose from.

Shut up. Illiterate. On one hand, you want a yoruba union and yet the idea of biafra scares you.
The US is currently supporting the independence of taiwan and hong-kong from china.
So the fact that the US wants to remain one dosen't mean they won't support secession in other countries if it is in their interests.
They are a superpower, Nigeria is not. The US does not need to practice what she preach. That is the gain of a superpower.
Nigeria is also supporting the foolish seccession of western sahara from morocco even with IPOB at home.
