I have actually wanted to ask elders close to me but I somehow think they may not know and might just say anything to save face. It goes thus:

interesting let's hope someone can tell us the story behind this proverb, i'm very keen to know the meaning as well

It is mainly use for a betrayal. Broken bottle ahead, baton behind the neck, is this what we agreed upon?. For someone not trustworthy.
