APC Candidate Oghuma Wins Edo State Bye Election by EmperorTech: 3:42pm On Jan 29, 2017 |
Mr Johnson Johnny Egwakhide Oghuma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged the winner of the Etsako Federal Constituency by-election in Edo. Oghuma, a former member of the State House of Assembly emerged winner with 39,876 votes to defeat the People’s Democratic Party candidate Mr Jude Imagwe who polled 18,193 votes. The Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Shola Omotola, who announced the result at about 00:45 am on Sunday said the APC candidate won having scored the highest number of votes cast. Omotola said that out of the 59,301 votes cast, 58,427 were regarded as valid votes and 874 votes were rejected. Speaking to newsmen, Oghuma, who will be 57 years old in March, assured the people of the constituency of effective representation. “I want to assure Etsako people that I will not fail them. “I will represent them well and their voices will be heard and I will not disappoint them,” he said. The bye-election came following the election of the former holder of the seat, Mr Philip Shuaib, as Deputy Governor of the state. Oghuma was born on 3 March 1960 in Fugar. After his primary and secondary education, he went to Bendel State University, now Ambrose Ali University to read Economics. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1985. He later got a Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of Lagos, Akoka in 1990. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/01/apc-candidate-oghuma-wins-edo-state-bye-election/ |

Jude IMAGWE aspiration is my aspiration says Hon. Omosede Igbinedion of the PDP. This position she canvassed immediately Jude emerged the candidate of PDP. Impliedly she was trying to encourage people to vote for Jude considering his youthful background. I can't stop laffing at the ignorance of some persons who want to die with PDP. My colleagues from PDP in the social media tried reluctantly to convince voters to consider Jude as a better option for Johnny Ogumah but unfortunately the people of Etsako have not come to terms with the misery and anemia of 16 years PDP maladministration. The result of the election is not a surprise to many of us because it could not have been otherwise. Etsako people cannot forget so quickly the immeasurable development that Adams Oshiomhole brought to the people and the resilience with which the incumbent governor Obaseki continues to build on Adam's legacies. DAYS ahead what you will hear from PDP is that the election was monetized, rigged, ballot papers stuffed and result manipulated. PDP that we know may even contest the result in a tribunal. Congratulations to Jude at least he has made some cool cash. BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Ogumah who will now represent his people at the Federal House of Representatives. Congratulations to APC. Done and dusted since day one Shaibu left that seat! When Oshiomele is still active so forget any other party in that constituency as far as this election was concern. |

Qmerit: Lol, don't mind them. just yesterday obaseki led team of investors on an assessment tour to Auchi fertilizer factory and he promised to revamp it within the next 3months. That alone is a minimum of 500 direct and 5000 indirect jobs to edolites in perticular and Nigerians in general. 1 Like |
