Nigeria Produces Crude Oil But Imports Low Quality Fuel From Outside!!! by Veritasafrique: 10:00pm On Feb 03, 2017
Everyone knows that Nigeria is a major producer of crude oil in Africa. But it is known also that Nigeria imports low quality fuel from outside. Why must a country that produces crude oil in large quantity not be able to refine such crude oil for its citizens? Why must the crude oil be sold and we buy fuel from outside? We export high quality crude oil at a very cheap price and we import low quality refined fuel at a very high price. What a foolishness! It is not foolishness. It is rather a planned deal. The colonial masters are gaining from the system and the corrupt politicians enrich themselves immensely from the stupid system. That is Nigeria and that is Africa.
We remember that one of the ministers of petroleum some years back had suggested that we should be refining our oil in the country and be exporting refined products. According to him, it would enable the country to earn more. He was relieved of his post immediately for having said it. Who was he to stop the looting that is going on in the country? Nigerians and indeed Africans must ask themselves the reason behind all these. We need serious awareness.
